Welcome to the North East Festivals and Events Toolkit

Welcome to the North East Festivals and Events Toolkit, which provides existing and new events operating in the North East with support, advice and opportunities to make the best of their events.

The Toolkit will provide assistance to event managers in a number of different areas

Strategy documents: This gives you the opportunity to see the latest thinking on the role that festivals and events play in the North East and how the three sectors, public, private and voluntary, can get involved.

Information Sheets: This section includes up-to-date advice and guidance on a wide range of issues that festival and event organisers must be aware of. The sheets can be found in the document library. Some of the sheets can be used as checklists.

Desti.ne: This section will link you to the tourism business toolkit where you can follow a step by step guide that will show you how to market your event and festival to a world wide audience through the North East England tourism e-business platform.

Monitoring and Evaluation - eventIMPACTS

The eventIMPACTS Toolkit has been developed by UK Sport, Visit Britain, Event Scotland, the London Development Agency, the North West Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward and Glasgow City Marketing Bureau. It comprises some key guidance and good practice principles for evaluating the social, economic, environmental and media-related impacts associated with staging major sporting and cultural events.

Sustainable Events - Eventberry

It is important that all aspects of an event are sustainable. Event organisers need to consider the social, economic and environmental impacts of organising their event. Every choice, from the venue and travel arrangements, through to the content of the delegate packs should be designed to be as ecologically responsible as possible.
