What is Desti.ne?

Desti.ne is the North East England tourism product database. It collects, updates and displays information about attractions, events, accommodation and other product types in the region. This information is then automatically fed to local, regional, national and international websites. This means, from one single online ‘record’ in Desti.ne, your festival or event information, can reach millions of visitors.

And best of all, it is free of charge.

Why use Desti.ne?

The way in which people research and book their holiday, short breaks and days out is changing. The internet is the fastest growing and most widely used source of information for holiday research and online sales in the tourism sector continue to rise dramatically.

  • Desti.ne Extranet is free when you register with Tourism Network North East (contact your Area Tourism Partnership data steward – see below)
  • You are given login details
  • You access the North East England tourism product database
  • You upload your event information
  • This information is moderated (ie, checked) by your local Area Tourism Partnership data steward
  • Your information is automatically distributed to all relevant website for customers worldwide to view
  • You can amend or update your information at any time

What are the benefits of Desti.ne Extranet?

  • it is free
  • it is easy to use
  • you need only update information once for it to appear across all Desti.ne linked websites (see below for a list of these)
  • local, regional and national websites will receive an accurate record of your product at all times
  • you have control of your own information - it removes the need to rely on someone else to update your information
  • it's quicker and faster than traditional form filling and allows access at any time
  • it's a secure system that only you can access
  • you can view your own performance statistics such as: the number of hits you receive, the number of  times your entry is added to a visitor's itinerary, and how many people ‘click-through’ to your own website
